Dr. Luc Montagnier
to be Honored at
Time for Lyme's
Dream Gala

Dr. Luc Montagnier is a distinguished world renowned virologist, and a Nobel Prize winner for his discovery of HIV.

Professor Luc Montagnier has spent most of his scientific career in the study of viruses associated with chronic diseases. Among his achievements are the isolation of the viruses known as HIV 1 and 2. Besides his involvement in the design of new types of protective and therapeutic AIDS vaccines, his current studies are aimed at the diagnosis and treatment of microbial and viral factors associated with cancers, neuro-degenerative and articular diseases.

While the Professor’s work on AIDS is well-known, few people realize his dedication to helping people worldwide to access better prevention, treatment, research and diagnosis for AIDS. His non-conforming work outside of the provincial research domain that has led to breakthrough research involving viral and microbial disease represents an opportunity for cross over research. Time For Lyme has the distinct privilege to introduce Dr. Luc Montagnier to the Lyme disease community at the TFL Gala “The Dream – A Lyme Free World” to be held on April 18th where The Professor will receive the 2009 Lauren F. Brooks Hope Award.

About the Award: The Lauren F. Brooks Hope Award, initiated in 2007, began a semi-annual award ceremony to commemorate a beloved Time For Lyme board member, Lauren F. Brooks. As the Vice President of Education, she helped thousands of individuals by informing them about the potential harm of tick borne diseases offering hope to countless families. To honor Lauren’s memory, Time for Lyme, Inc. created a special award “The Lauren F. Brooks Hope Award”.
